In and around the month of March 2006, four gold-headed surf rats descended on the golden
waves of Nicaragua. Oliver Parker was our Santa Barbaran, switch foot, wonder kid representative: Chris Klopf shot
video and photos and was on the late night spider patrol. Tyler "pickle" Warren kept the doodles steady till the wee
hours, while Robbi Kegle dodges and weaves around it bulls and desolate offshore happiness. On the other hand, the
talent and energy level we shared, as we were able to find perfect, empty waves from the leisure of Tom Eberly's
Nicaraguan Surf Patrol boat, blew me away. We met amazing people, we caused havoc, we shredded and most importantly
we found gold. To see more on this trip, keep your eyes peeled for Longboard magazines Latine America issue, Thalia
St. surf summer zine and Chris Klopf's new film: Surf Mongrels. |
