Chris Del Moro has been fortunate enough to have spent his childhood growing up between Los Angeles California, Florence/Sardinia Italy and the North Island of New Zealand. Through his experiences he has learned how small the world is and how we are all connected in some way. His passion for life and the environment has been harnessed through his love for ocean sports and creating art. From a young age Chris has grown up on the sea, allowing him to create a deep bond with the ocean and the sport of surfing. Chris competed through his teens, surfing on the US team for 4 years in a row and traveling the world on photo trips. In 2001 Chris became an L.A county lifeguard allowing him a chance to make a living protecting people, while simultaneously being at the beach all summer. Currently Chris has stopped competing in order to focus on the adventure side of surf travel and documentation, as well as his love of the arts.

At the young age of 16, Chris began making one-piece clothing designs, spray-painting friends surf boards and painting whatever he could get his hands on. His hobby quickly turned into work and he has now done illustrations for magazines, videos, clothing labels, poster campaigns, bands, and so on. At 18, Chris began a grass roots movement of clothing, street literature and various artworks entitled Sadking. Chris also began curating and displaying his art works in various shows such as the Rainbow Revolution in Rome, Italy, Tunnels in Oakland, Cal. and the High Five Show in Santa Cruz California. Chris is now 22 years old, living in Santa Cruz California and planning on moving to the north county of San Diego in the fall.

Much of Chris’s inspiration comes from the love of his friends, family and his connection to living a healthy life connected to the earth. From birth Chris has been a vegetarian and believes that his energy for life stems from his diet of organic foods and produce. His travels have opened his eyes to the beauty of the world and the people that inhabit it. His art and clothing design is known to carry a message of love, environmental protection, political responsibility and historical evolution of the human psyche. Chris has recently graduated form the University of Santa Cruz, with a degree in Community Studies, focusing on sustainable agriculture and fair labor practices. The Community Studies program has further pushed his goals of working towards social justice and inspired him to start a movement, which encapsulates many of the concepts, he has learnt. A natural progression of these values is now coming to life through the Collectic project. Chris is excited to spearhead the Collectic project and bring something unique to the world.
