As a young man I went on a surfing trip to a beautiful point break in southern Baja. I was immediately impressed with a young blond carving figure eights down the points light blue walls. We quickly made friends, turned out he had hitched a ride from his home land of Washington. As fate had it we later met up in Maui and are now living within minutes of each other in Santa Cruz, California. Washi, is one of the nicest people I have ever met, a great surfer and a budding filmmaker.

Chris Del Moro

Washi was born and raised in the Chehalis River Valley of Washington state. He learned to use the diverse wave conditions of Washington’s sea to become a versatile surfer and traveler. His wandering include, Canada, the Pacific Northwest, California, Baja, mainland Mexico, Hawaii, Indonesia, and some secret islands in the South Pacific. Through his journeys searching for waves, Washi has developed a great talent of recording his experiences through audio-visual arts. In his words he is aiming, “to combine motion & sound to create a vibration or spark an emotion.” Brian has a pioneering spirit and his connection to the surrounding world will keep his work and passion for life blossoming for years to come. Brian’s first film was a mood piece entitled Cascade Shadows and his latest project, Static Sporadic, is available to down load through our sight.
We are happy to have him involved with the Collectic project and look forwards to working with him on future film projects.
